Reporting process
- Identify the page or dataset where the issue appears.
- Describe the claim, value, or label that is incorrect.
- Provide a primary-source citation (filing, court record, agency record) demonstrating the correct fact where possible.
- Submit using the form below or by emailing corrections@vigildata.org.
Evidence we look for
We prioritize corrections that cite primary public records. We will evaluate other evidence on a case-by-case basis.
Review process
Each correction is acknowledged, reviewed against the primary source, and either applied, declined with reasoning, or escalated for further verification. Material corrections are logged publicly.
Correction categories
- Factual error. Something stated is incorrect against the cited primary source.
- Outdated record. A record has been superseded by a more recent filing.
- Misattribution. A vote, trade, contribution, or quote is attributed to the wrong person or entity.
- Methodology concern. A derived score, label, or aggregation does not match its documented methodology.
- Source link broken. A linked source has moved or been removed.
Correction log
A public correction log is being prepared. Entries will include the date, the page or dataset, a short description of what changed, and the source supporting the correction.
